(Year 230, Spring) There were many speculations following the recent announcement from the royal palace, regarding His Royal Majesty King Tarriot's equality concerns. Today the truth was revealed, and reactions are already hitting the front pages and TV news. The King wants to reduce the political power of Church of Similius!
Never before a Monarch did arrest the stately Church of Similius. Ever since Year 140 the church had two seats of The People Chamber's total of 21 seats. He now threatens with taking away one of those seats, unless the church modernizes its very old view on females.
Today's press meeting was lead my Royal Chief Attendant, Patricia Maiden. The royal palace's press room was packed with journalists hoping for the gender equality announcement to unfold.
- People Chamber has only 21 seats. 19 of those seats are on election every 5 years. Only the 2 seats reserved Church of Similius are not elected - they are reserved! It means the church stays in charge of nearly 10% of the votes, regardless of their behavior, attitude and lack of equality. Their females are often seen walking in dirty clothes, barefoot - in Winter. Just because the church says that nobody needs more than strictly needed. The Priests do use shoes, though, just not their wives.
Obviously the Monarch can do nothing more than issuing an Act to be discussed and voted by the People Chamber. Also the High Court must approve the final outcome.
- I'm addressing this because it hurts my heart to see such a gruesome tradition and attitude without anyone questioning it. We can not direct Church or Similius, but we can make sure their lack of equality will reduce their power. We want well balancing values in harmony with the people to form our community!
A written press note was then handed to all the attending journalists, and questions would be directed to Royal Chief Attendant Maiden. The People Chamber is not likely to handle the suggested Act until Fall. Meanwhile - how will this royal initiative affect the relation between the royal family and the stately church?
