Welcome! :) On this blog you will find stories, how i play and videos created with The Sims 4, but also a few projects from older game versions can be found in the Archive. The old TS3 stories have their own blogs. Most long going stories have a main page with index of updates.

Check out Simmerville's Youtube channel!

I'm no longer on Tumblr! I refused to give all their 3rd parties unlimited access to my computer. Link still works, but no updates.

A new political party announced

(Year 232, Spring) Today, on Community Day (1st day of Spring), a brand new political party was announced! How exciting is that? Mazaloom kingdom already has 3 parties, all currently represented at People Chamber with 2 to 10 seats. Now a new group of politicians seems to aim for a bit of the national community cake; the SIM WORLD party.

The new party was officially founded Winter Year 231, and their first annual gathering will take place later in Spring, like all parties do. Then they will decide their political focus and their Core group for the coming 5 years. Their founder, and assumingly first Leader-to-be, is Roger Mistfield (67) from Chestnut Ridge. He wants a party focusing more on international relations, as well as more benefits regarding custom content. They also ask for a clearer difference between political parties: Today each party covers so many focuses that it gets hard for the voter to spot the obvious difference.

- Each party is allowed too many political causes. With votes spread all over and adjusting every 5 years, it gets very hard to execute any major changes to community, Mistfield states.

Today each party can have maximum 7 political statements (focuses), including 2 political causes which makes it easier for Politicians to find which party supporting their cause. SIM WORLD party suggests an even more narrow focus, by allowing only 5 statements, total.

- It would still be possible to work with all details of our community, but it would be easier to navigate the political landscape for both Politicians and voters. With a total of four parties this might be even more important than before.

Initial core group gathered at Chestnut Ridge community center. From left: Hertog Lobster (Windenburg), Roger Mistfield (Advorton) and Abhrin Wusha (Mazaloom).

For a start, Mistfield has gathered a small group of four members who are now calling for attention. To be allowed running for the Year 235 election, they need to provide a list of minimum 8 candidates representing all of the 8 regions, and this must be ready no later than Nomination Day (1st day of Spring Year 234). So, there is still some time to sort these things out.

- Our approach will be more international than the other parties. Someone needs to address the conflict between Mazaloom kingdom and Empire of Snorthia before it grows out of hand, he says. - We want to focus on international affairs, trades and other relations, by moving some of the focus up from the currently very local focus. Our community depends on international trades and can easily build more and better relations than we did in the past. Our history book lists numerous conflicts and wars, while it is much harder to find events that affected our community positively.

The SIM party is not as supportive to our Monarch.

- We don't mean to suggest immediate changes, but in the long run we might develop an idea of replacing the old systems with modernized community structures. The fact that we won't support the Monarch institution, simply means that we think there are better ways to organize a community. Changes can come gradually or as a revolution, depending on how hard it is to get through with changes.

The upcoming Regional Reform might make it hard for the new party to see exactly where to build new members. Not even the suggested new borders are officially known yet.

- I must say it is a catastrophe to everyone who will be involved - and we all will at some point, that the current People Chamber don't see that these regional changes do hurry! They can not keep them secret until it is all decided! A better solution would be to decide those changes bit by bit, or to get it all over with much sooner than announced. Parties need the time to adjust for the next election, but also residents and businesses will benefit from much earlier announcements. We already learned that some of the high nobility will lose some status - but again - no info on who that will be, so it is all left to speculations. I'm sure that some of the upcoming changes will be agreed on with hardly any discussion, so why not get those details out of the way already? I heard that Oasis Springs applied to switch from Region 12 Mazaloom to Region 7 Advorton. When both Oasis Springs and Advorton agree, and if it has no deeper impact on the larger regional picture - why delay the approval? Advorton is my home region, and I know for sure that Oasis Springs is welcome to join us!

Mistfield and his initial group have come up with a few statements, that will be debated further by memmbers this Spring.

- Our top 5 focus list includes statements that are not yet addressed by other parties, so we will add to the official list which will broaden our political horizon. They must be approved, but might be:
1. Stronger focus on international relations.
2. Regional Reform to be voted ASAP.
3. Residents to benefit more from imported Custom Content.
4. Modernized community structure.
5. A school exchange program with our neighboring nations.

The first group of members includes Mistfield (Chestnut Ridge), Hertog Lobster (Windenburg), Abhrin Wusha (San Myshuno), and not the least global star, Octavia Moon (Del Sol Valley).

- New members must be "World United" friendly, but we will accept other causes, too. Our bigger cause fractions will most likely be "World United" and "No Sim Left Behind".
