(Year 231, Winter) At a brief but full packed event taking place at People Chamber last night, the new Residential Rental routine was officially announced, and the Merchants Guild core group leader, Corinne Dougham, introduced the brand new deed that all major Landlords must purchase. And why was HRM King Tarriot there? He was the first to receive this new deed!

These days we see a lot of buzz regarding the residential rental business. We had plenty of rentable homes in the past, but the new system makes it more interesting to run this as a business, and - the restrictions might actually bring some exclusivity to the Landlord title. Mazaloom kingdom can only provide 56 units (7 per 8 regions) and because we now require the bigger Landlords to hold a limited deed, the business will not be an option to just anyone.
There are 8 «Landlord limited» deeds, giving the holder the right to rent out 1 unit, in addition to 1 unit within your home, that will not require a deed. There are only 4 «Landlord unlimited» that gives the right to manage unlimited number of rental units. The deeds only apply to Landlords with a unit on a different address or providing more than 1 unit for rent at their home lot.
The unlimited deed shows three houses, while the limited version shows just one house. |
King Tarriot represents the Royal Trust, which owns property in several regions, regularly let to family members or other relations. In addition the King owns some property on private hands. The Merchants Guild gifted him the very first unlimited guild, and secured him that it will cover both the trust and the Monarch's private properties. This makes him one of the top 4 landlords, and nobody should be surprised.
Also Malcolm Landgraab Mester Cacti (78) and Eleanor Elderberry (90) were issued deeds - not gifted though, they will be charged §2,000 and §1,000.
This was the first occasion that we saw the entire Merchants Guild core group in public, they normally stay out of limelight. Leader Corinne Dougham Mester Crestville (67) is one of the nation's wealthiest women, and Claudia Tangerin Mester Shine (77) is quite well off, too. Nina Caliente (72), probably not that wealthy, but her rather new perfume business got her elected for the core group. Merchants Guild works for trades, being crafted items or bigger business - like being a Landlord.
There is a new online registry listing Landlords and Rentable Units per nation and region
