(Year 232, Winter) It's Investiture Day, aka Royal Court, which is the annual event taking place at the royal palace on 1st day of Winter. Half a year earlier the Monarch announced this year's investitures and new knights. The list has to be made public in advance, because anyone protesting must have enough time to react. Protests were more common a century ago, and is mainly interesting for new peers anyway. This year there were no new Peer, but a few prominent residents were knighted for some of the high orders. The 12 district orders are paused this year due to the Regional Reform Y233, and the fact that 4 of the orders will not see any future new knights.
Left to right: Grand Marshal Robert Calves, Mila Munch, and High Priest Ansgar Profedius. |
Mila Munch (78) was knighted for the High Order of the Golden Lion, for life long efforts for the Historical Society.
Ansgar Profedius (68) was knighted for the High Order of the Sprout (aka the National Sprout), for providing Church of Similius' five Vicarages with gardens for growing some the household's food..
In addition there were a few announcements regarding new titles of spouses. They were Countess Elisabeth of TickTop (her husband got his Count investiture two years ago), Baroness Suzi of Portefino (from marrying to Prince Ace, Baron of Portefino), Baroness Lizzy of Man (from marrying to Baron Vince of Man), and finally Baron Robbiam de Vert (from marrying to Baroness Amalia de Vert).
There was also given some information regarding the 4 district orders that will now go dormant. Current knights of those orders will keep their knighthood life long, and will still be recognized by their sash. The Peer who used to be in charge of each order can no longer suggest new knights. It is up to each order if they will keep throwing annual gala dinners for their knights.
This applies to these four district orders:
- District Order of Tickerton, held by Ticktop county.
- District Order of Myshuno, held by Myshuno barony.
- District Order of Gloom, held by Gloom barony.
- District Order of Verde, held by Verde barony.
Congratulations to all honorees!
I glad to see this site is still going strong after all these years. Make me want to start up again.
