People Chamber: Seats per Region Confirmed

(Year 234, Spring) Yesterday the details that everyone has been waiting for were confirmed by High Court. In one year the Year 235 election takes place, and the 21 electable seats of People Chamber were shared between our 8 regions, based on latest population numbers.

The changes after the Year 230 election are significant thanks to the regional reform where several districts switched regions.

High Judge Mrs Anita Ferny held a quick press conference at People Chamber.

- The fresh national census tells us that Mazaloom kingdom has a total of 5,134,790 residents. Knowing the number of residents per region, we are able to confirm how many People Chamber seats each of the 8 regions shall represent, coming the Year 235 election. One seat equals to 200,000 residents. A region can have minimum 1seat and maximum 5 seats. The party winning a region (regional Councilor), wins all seats of that region:

Region Windenburg (Windenburg, Nordhaven and Granite Falls):
Population: 659,800
Seats: 3

Region Rossie (Britechester and Henford-on-Bagley):
Population: 224,050
Seats: 1

Region Tredony (Del Sol Valley, Tredony, Tartosa):
Population: 690,004
Seats: 3

Region Crafthole (Ravenwood with Glimmerbrook, Copperdale with Moonwood):
Population: 254,736*
Seats: 1

Region San Myshuno (Myshuno, Meadows and Magnolia Promenade):
Population: 1,796,000
Seats: 5

Region Aarbyville (San Sequoia, Aarby)
Population: 340,000
Seats: 2

Region Advorton (Ciudad Enamorada, Chestnut Ridge, Oasis Springs, StrangerVille)
Population: 622,400
Seats: 3

Region Gloom (Gloomville, Newcrest, Brindleton Bay, Evergreen Harbor)
Population: 547,800
Seats: 3

Based on population (200,000 residents per seat), the regions claim a total of 19 seats. This means the two regions with the largest leftover will get the 2 remaining seats. This is Gloom (147,800) and Aarbyville (140,000). After this, region Gloom gets 3 seats and region Aarbyville gets 2 seats.

The total number of seats was increased by one seat in order to make room for 1 Prime Minister, 4 members of each of the 5 ministries (=20 seats), and Church of Similius (1 seat reserved). Because of Prime Minister's double vote, the required 11 seats for a winning group is not affected.

This concludes the 21 electable seats for the Year 235 election. In addition 1 seat (used to be 2 seats) is reserved Church of Similius.
