Agatha Crumplebottom Honored

(Year 234, Spring) Yesterday there was a small ceremony at region Rossie's recreation center, located at Gibbs Hill in Britechester. The main guest came from Henford-on-Bagley, to receive the Rossie medal of honor; Agatha Crumplebottom. The honor is only given to residents with a positive reputation, and they must have contributed to the community in a way that stands out a bit, positively.

Proud honoree: Agatha Crumplebottom (95).

Agatha Crumplebottom (95) was honored for founding and idealistically running her garden shop at Finchwick for decades. Most of those many years she ran the stall alone, but the recent years she was assisted by her cousin, Agnes.

The shop concept has spread to districs like Britechester, Gloom and even San Myshuno, those stalls obviously served by others, but are bringing out the charming small scale concept that her Finchwick stall is known for.

Both Agatha and Agnes will shortly be too old for long workingdays, but Agatha reveiled that she has no specific plan for the little shop at Finchwick when she is no longer around.

Left to right: Lord Bennet Ross (Henford-on-Bagley Mayor), Agatha Crumplebottom,
and Mr Jurton Summerton Mester Foxbury (Rossie Councilor).

The golden medal on red ribbon with white lines was given by Rossie Councilor, Mr Jurton Summerton Mester Foxbury, supported by Mayor of Henford-on-Bagley (and Agatha's neighbor) Lord Bennet Ross.

The regional medal of honor is a rather old tradition honoring residents who put up that extra effort for the community. It's been a while since a resident was awarded the Rossie medal of honor. The only other person honered was Mr Felix Psyded Mester Beritecheser (Y74-172), who got it in Year 129 for founding the University of Britechester.

Each of the 8 regions have their own unique Medal of Honor, but several regions no longer have any alive honorees. Being this rare, the medal actually becomes an heirlom, rapidly increasing its value and being a beloved decór item among descendants.

Last year the leader of Mazaloom Council, Mr. Charloman C. Dougham, went public to encourage the regions to keep the tradition alive. It was Mazaloom Garden Society that nominated Agatha. Their leader, Ona Rosewood from Oasis Springs, says: - Agatha is a prime example of non-selfish community contriburion that has brought garden joy and decor to so many homes.

Agatha Crumpleton is now the only alive resident with the Rossie medal. Congratulations!
