Gloomville Diaries - Gen 1 - Ch 24 - A new computer

Both Ochana and Chad were now Adults, not that it shows and not that is matters. Ochana still wanted a new computer, but funds were low, and she had to think outside of the box!

after the kids left for school, Ochana and Chad walked outside into the little garden. The plants were mostly tended by Ochana, but Miranda, who recently became a teenager, liked to help occasionally.

- So you grafted that plant? Where did you learn that? Chad asked after inspecting a new plant.
- Agaton showed me, Ochana replied. - Agaton Oaksdale is a farmer, you know!
- So, will you magically come up with some tomato plants then?
- No dear. But my friend Ona Rosewood invited us over to Oasis Springs again, her hubby knows where those wild tomato plants grow!

Ochana walked over to their apple tree, and Chad followed.
- This tree is getting old, Chad! It was planted by Sissela Morck, one of the Sims by Numbers contestants.
- And?
- Well, I wish we could use the apples for something special, it would be like a nice tradition, you see?

But Chad did not see. - Why don't we just eat those apples? he asked.
- Well, I was thinking of baking something. Let's see...

They walked inside, and Ochana tried to come up with some recipe for an applecake.
- Meh... this won't work, she said to herself...

- Wow, Ochana, you really got a good hand with that one!
- I wish it was this easy, but I don't think this will give us any applecake, Chad!

- Oups!
- I'm impressed, dear! Chad said.

- I think I'll bake some chocolate cookies instead, Ochana stated.

- Love you just the same! Chad flirted.
- How about strawberry cake! Ochanna suggested, not really able to tear herself away from the cooking. - If we only had fresh strawberries...

She found that the baking helpt taking her mind off the need of a computer. The kids would need a computer for their school work, and she would need a secret computer up at her hidden attic office, to practice her writing skill. She would need to work harder on the Secret Mission, as soon as Edith and Miranda became Young Adults, she would need to pass on the mission to one of the kids! By then she would need to write her book. Her own book for the Gloomville Diaries.

Then she got the brilliant idea! How about the neighbour Adrian Hikes' sister? What was her name again, Ella was it? She was a computer geek, maybe she could sell some old computer cheap?

Ochana walked right over, and the door was opened by Adrian Hikes.

- Hello, Ochana, he greeted her.

- Hi Adrian, I'd like a word wih your sister!
- Oh, did she hack into your homecomputer?
- No. Is she at home?

Adrian pointed at a door, and Ochana walked into Ella Hikes' bedroom and office.
- Hello, Ella! she said.

- What? Who sent you?
- Your brother Adrian told me I'd find you in here. I'm Ochana from across the street.

- Oh well, and what on Earth made you think you can waste my time like this? I'm busy programming!
- Oh, I just wanted to ask you a favour. Computer related, actually.
- Okay? Like what? Hacking your old enemy's heart starter?

- Heaven, no! Ochana bursted. - I just need an old computer, and thought that maybe you got something old and cheap that you don't need.

- Uh, well, I actually do. It can't connect to the internet though, it's probably just good for ordinary writing.
- Perfect, Ochana said. - I need it for writing only!
- How much can you pay? Ella asked.

A little later the kids were back home from school. The older twins, Miranda and Edith, were extremely tired, while Pivian and Paula still had some energy left. Miranda was even stinking filthy. They all had a chocolate cookie before taking a nap.

- Oh, who took the kitchen chair, Pivian asked. - We used to have four!
- You can stand eating a cookie, Pivian! said Miranda. She actually wanted to do some gardening, but first she needed to take a shower, and then to sleep for a couple hours. School was tough today!
- Is it true that you got a boyfriend, Edith? Paula asked. - Someone in class told me!
- No, that's not true, Edith said. - I'll let you know whenever that happens, Paula!

Meanwhile, up in the attic...

Ochana got her old computer. Ella Hikes wanted §500, but Ochana offered her §200 or nothing. Because the kids were at school and Chad just left for his new Sports job, it was easy to bring the computer up to the secret office. Then she moved one of the four kitchen chairs. The family would need both the kitchen table and dining room table to eat their meals anyway, because they were six.

Then Ochana could finally start writing. She would wait a few days with her book project, but for now she made some notes. Everything she knew about Mr. Flock who suffered injustice, Aileen Gleeson who used to own this house, how she thought the Oaksdales at Willow Farm must have had something to do with it all. The old tree at Muggerdale Hood. And the peron named Edwin - who was he?

Detesters - 13 - Hair

Wowow... my poor testsims being trapped in time with twin babies for this long! I never planned a 4 weeks break, but good thing is that the break just ended! :D

In the town of Pauline & Hector Detester (uhm, Twinbrook...) there is heavy Winter and seasonal leftovers on the doorstep.

Today is a very hectic day! Annie, Hector's daughter from his first marriage, stopped by to invite Hector and Pauline to join her at the Graduation event at the City Hall. Pauline could hardly think of anything less interesting, but figured it was better to keep quiet and join. Pauline was actually so eager that I teleported her downtown just to save them some time, instead of entering a car.

Then things turned complicated as Annie insisted - beyond my control - to bring the twins, who are her half sisters. I have no idea why someone would care to bring babies to such a ceremony... it took forever.

This was a first for me, and I had no idea that teleporting Pauline downtown was no good idea at all. By instinct, she decided to join the others in the taxi, so she ran all the way back home - and they waited... Phew, was I impatient, and whew was Pauline sweaty...

Annie: Polly, what were you thinking?! Running off like that?

Polly: Phew-phew... oh, shut up and graduate! Phew-phew...

Annie still carried baby Sally, so she didn't even change into her graduation robe (maybe the game expected me to know that I should have told her to before they left? :dunno: ).

Pauline: It's freezing! How long is this outdoor ceremony last?

Annie: It's over, Polly.

Pauline: Fine, then let's go home!

If Pauline thought they would relax at home, she was wrong. Hector had plans for them... today it's time to test the imported hairstyles! They changed to casual clothes and went to the salon.

Pauline: If I knew she is your ex-mother-in-law, Hector, I'd suggest... something else!

Sonia Crandall: Relax, old woman, I'm experienced. And I'm not going to harm your lacking beauty just because your Hector left my daughter!

Hector: It was Vera who left me, Sonia!

Sonia: So... is there hope at all? Hair... hm... let's just try something and maybe I'll see a glimpse of hope...

Pauline: Ehhh...

Sonia: Not horrible, not horrible...

Pauline: Meh... I've had it! I'm going home!

Hector: Wait for me, I'm having a quick go, too!

Sonia: I never realy understood what Vera saw in you... that's obvious, I still don't understand.

Hector: Okay, we've had it!

They hurried back home to celebrate the twins birthday! Sally and Sabina will grow up to toddlers!

Hector: Shouldn't we invite the grandparents?

Pauline: No, they'll just die anyway. But, don't you think Sabina would prefer the cake over your deo?

Hector: Sh... I'm making her a wish!

Pauline: Oh, I just blew Sally's candle, and I forgot that the wish was not for me... Well, she will benefit from having a happy and smiling mom anyway!

Sabina and Sally grew up! I swear I didn't change traits or hair, only added freckles and beautyspot that they inherited through my DNA system :) . Funny to see that Sabina got dark hair, her dad's eye colour, and she will later on be needing glasses. Her traits are Eccentric and Friendly.

Sally won't need glasses until she gets elderly, her traits are Genius and Grumpy, and she got Pauline's blond hair and eye colour!

Sweet, sweet!

(Sorry that it's too hard to see who created CC hair, or I'd give credits/links)

Gloomville Diaries - Gen 1 - Ch 23 - Neighbours visiting

Recently the twins, Edith and Miranda, grew up to teenagers. But they were not the only ones growing older, Ochana is half way through her adult life, and tonight she wanted to throw a party. According to the Secret Mission's Rules & Directions, at least one person from each of the other 4 houses of their street, had to attend!

In the morning, Ochana and Chad had a special breakfast, heart cakes! Yay! Ochana always liked to flirt, and Chad loved those cookies, too!

- I really wonder if they will all attend my party, Ochana said.
- Of course they will! I don't see why it would matter that much if one of them can't make it? There will still be enough guests for a great party!

- Well, let's hope! she said, knowing that Chad could not understand it all. He was never introduced to the Secret Mission. Ochana worried a lot for what might happen if not all the other households were represented.

Finances were pretty bad, after buying all the Christmas decors for Edith and Miranda's birthday, and now throwing another party, the account balance was only about §800. Still no money for decorating the bedrooms upstairs. Sigh.

After school, or perhaps while there was still one hour left, twins Edith and Miranda found their way to the local clothing store! They were pretty disappointed when they realized that the room upstairs was not their birthday gift, instead they had been gifted a mirror! Then mom had allowed them to go shopping some clothes as long as they made it inexpensive.

It's time to get to know them a little better. Although there is also a younger set of twins, there's a good chance that either Edith or Miranda will be chosen to bring on the Mission. Simply because Ochana will learn to know them better. On their Young Adult birthday, she will need to make a choice!

- Edith, I think this was a bad idea...
- Come on, Miranda! We do need clothes, right? Mom allowed us to spend just a little.

Edith was always the most social of the two, and growing up gave her the traits Outgoing and Musiclover. She aspired to become a comedian, but well, her plans might change, right?

Miranda wanted to become a Freelance Botanist, she already helped Ochana with the garden. Her traits were Neat and Perfectionist, she would be a good assistant when it came to reorganizing the plants.

So, the first and second pictures show their everyday clothes. One rather boring, and one slightly more representative. Edith is a tad more feminine than Miranda. She also seems to care a bit more about her outfits. Her favourite colour is lavender, while Miranda prefers blue.

- You look like a retired librarian, Miranda! said Edith.
- Stop it, Edith, I couldn't care less!

Now their sports outfits. Their dad, Chad, just switched career and will now work at the local Gym, so maybe the girls can get some benefits from exercising there?

- We better hurry! Mom's birthday party is up in one hour! Let's buy some party clothes!
- Okay said Miranda. - But then we're done with clothes for a while!

Looks like they will attend a party with different attitudes! Miranda wearing the long skirt, and Edith wearing a cowboy hat. Good girls, now for the party!

Back home Ochana had dressed, and she were busy baking a cake. If she only did this before she dressed in her finest wear!

- Darling, would you mind repairing the kitchen sink? Guests will arrive in less than 30 minutes!

Well, not sure about that sink, but the cake was done, and shortly Ochana found herself in the living room, surrounded by neighbours!

- Attention! The action will take place over here! Hello?

She blew those candles, and the crowd cheered. For a second Ochana felt like the center of the world!

- Voila!

Right, for a second! That's how long it took the guests to go back to their gossiping and small talk. Totally ignoring tonight's main person.

Well, they all got some cake, although there was not enough chocolate cake, and some ate heart cookies in the kitchen instead.

Brenda Kammin it quite a flirty person, Ochana could watvh her from the doorway, as Brenda talked to Chad. But Ochana tried to relax, as Brenda Kammin was pregnant, and the father was Mark Oaksdale, Agaton Oaksdale's younger brother. Also Zilla Brox had attended the party - she owns the house where Brenda and Mark also resides.

The Grossing household was there too, represented by the violinist Kevin Grossing and his lovely wife, the author Camilla Grossing. They can't take their eyes of each other, rather cute actually. Uhm, not their hands either, by the way.

In the dining room, a little later, 4 men representing one house each, were gathered. All to the left is Adrian Hikes. Next to him is Kevin Grossing. Then, to the right are Mark Oaksdale (wearing yellow) and Agaton Oaksdale.

Ochana still though that the Oaksdales were involved with the injustice, referred to in the Secret Mission, but she had not found out yet, what actually happened in the past.

While the men gathered in the dining room, the women were busy chatting in the living room.

Seated are Zilla Brox, to the left, and Camilla Grossing, the author, to the right. Ochana is back in her original outfit, after switching a bit during the night. Weird wardrobe stuff is going on for the Holidays...

Ochana wanted to get to know both Zilla and Camilla. Zilla wasn't very interested, though.

- So, now that Mark Oaksdale moved in with you and Brenda, I guess you feel more tied to the hood's past? Ochana wondered.
- How would I feel tied to anything because of him? He engaged Brenda, they live upstairs where there is room for the baby, while I live downstairs. We share the kitchen and living. I hardly see them these days. No ties whatsoever...
- Brenda and Mark make such a nice couple, Camilla said. - How about you, Zilla, are you seeing someone, too?
- Well, just no! Zilla answered. And they all got the message, subject was closed.

Gloomville Diaries - Gen 1 - Ch 22 - Twins' birthday

Ochana had visited all neighbours, and her new question regarded some guy named Edwin, the one who had passed on the Secret Mission to Aileen Gleeson. Did he ever live here at Willow Creek?

This morning Ochana was gardening while someone familiar jogged by, Ona Rosewood from the Sims by Numbers Show!

- Hello Ochana, how's going? Ona greeted. She looked pretty sporty, although she had gained even more weight than Ochana.
- Great, we're all fine, Chad, me, and our 4 kids. It's the oldest twins' birthday tomorrow.
- Yes, time flies, doesn't it! 4 kids, you beat me again, Ochana!

- The Show seems like in my past life or something. Hey, why did you never stop by at Oasis Springs? We had two lovely kids, and Josue's brother moved out. There's room to stay over if you like!

- Oh, we simply couldn't find time. But maybe we should come. I heard there's wild tomatos in Oasis Springs, are they easy to find? Chad wants me to grow some.
- Sure, Ochana. There's tomatos, and Josue knows exactly where to find them. Give me a call!

Then Ona ran off, and Ochana walked to the picnic area to harvest some mushroms. She could use them for fertilizing the crops.

Then she spent some time with Edith (pink), Miranda sitting blue), Pivian and Paula (sitting on floor). Ochana wasn't really a family person, but Chad wasn't either. Besides Chad taking the kids out to various community locations weekends, they would normally just watch tv and eat together. Being four kids they would never be alone.

Ochana often wondered how the four did at school, but she never got the time to help each of them with their schoolwork.

Across the street old Niels Grossing had ran outside to stop someone walking by, Agaton Oaksdale.

- So, she asked you questions, too? Niels Grossing asked.
- Well, yes. Just about the past that I hardly know...
- Mr Agaton Oaksdale, I knew your folks. They were fine people! And so wa Edwin, but times changed, you know. It's easier to look forward!
- Edwin who?
- Right, son! If she asks about Edwin, you simply don't have a clue! Ha!

The next morning Edith and Miranda were very excited!

- Drago, it's my birthday and you got me not gift? Oh, it's not important. Because I think you and I will move upstairs tonight. I will get a new room upstairs, you see! Edith might need to share it with us, I don't know yet. Okay?

- Pivian, will you come to my birthday party?
- Of course, Edith!
- Cool! I invited Tammy, too! And you can have our old room when we move upstairs tonight! We think we will get a new room up there as a birthday presant! I heard someone up there again all night hammering, mom and dad must have worked real hard!
- Oh?

Party time! The girls got to invite one friend each. Edit invited Tammy Oaksdale from the farm next door, and Miranda invited Antoinette Morck, actually daughter of Sissela Morck from the Sims by Numbers Show!

They both arrived promptly, and the party was on!

The livingroom was decorated for the holidays, and Ochana had baked two cakes. Because Edith was the oldest, she went first!

O' la la...!

Wow, was she glowing!

... and wow, was she growing!

- Edith! You are way too tall to be my twin sister! Miranda whispered, nearly in shock.
- Your go, Miranda!

And Miranda concentrated and blew those lights and made a wish...

- Wow, Miranda, you're stealing my show! Edith shouted.
- Oh, it was nothing, siss. It looked advanced, but was a piece of cake!
- Now, let's eat, said mom Ochana, inviting everyone to the dining room.

Well, even with the help of two kitchen chairs, there wasn't room for them all. And even those who had got a seat, decided it was more fun to walk around to find another chair. Only Chad and Edith enjoyed the cake too much to think about other chairs.

So, Edith is sitting there next to Ochana, wearing a brown, short dress. Miranda sits next to Chad, wearing a blue floral dress with black top. They both have short hair by DNA, but their tastes in dressing etc will need some adjustments. I think there should be a separate update introducing the fresh teens of the house.

Ochana was greatful to see two of her kids grow up. They still had a long run for young adulthood, but now they would be more responsible, and hopefully their true personality would get more obvious. Would Edith or Miranda be Main Heir to the Secret Mission? Ochana could not stop wondering.

- So, just because you are taller , it's not the sama as if you were smarter! Antoinette Morck stated.
- How would you know, you are not as tall as me, Miranda replied. - In a couple days I will know stuff that you don't even know that you don't know yet, see?

To my surprise Miranda did socialize with the guests, while Edith, formerly the more outgoing, sat at the dining table silent as a statue. I didn't observe her exchange one single phrase...

Then Edith stood up, and left the table. That's when I notised her shoes... yes, they will need a make over for sure...

How about Miranda's shoes? I didn't check them either. Found her on the toilet, and the shoes - well, just about a bit more suitable than Edith's, still need to work a bit on these girls' new wardrobe.

So, it looks like the next update will include a visit to the clothing store in town!
