Monastery of Similius in need of Green Eyes

(Windenburg Year 227) Long ago I posted about the little monastery located in the middle of Windenburg's Isle. The place has a story back to Year 100, when the monastery was moved from The Bluff after war damages. Today the old, still off-the-grid lot is home to 4 monks.

Monastery life is not only about praying, singing and meditation.

They also throw a party to celebrate a monk's birthday. I was so happy when they pulled out those all green instruments. After all, Church of Similius focus on our green bars (vs red bars), and that we should not own or spend more than strictly needed to live a decent life. Green is the essence.

The monastery's main issue is to prepare future Priests for the Church of Similius. There's many traditions and routines involved, and the training is expected to take minimum 10 years.

But the Monastery is also attracting men who simply want to live a very simple life. They grow their own vegetables, fish and harvest from nature. They train various skills including Wellness, and recently they also took more seriously on singing. The ideal Priest will have green eyes, and descendants of previous priests will be sent to the Monastery shortly after their teen birthday, if they are born with green eyes. There are strict rules regarding this, it's not a choice but a duty. Because of this, I assume women of the tribe hope for daughters or sons without green eyes...

These days the Priest of the Church of Similius (located in Gloomville) is still far from elderly, and the Monastery is in no hurry to find a candidate. But in a few years the training should really start! But who will the candidate be?

Wollart Rose is the current Nestor at the Monastery, it is his responsibility that a Candidate is found and trained. His problem is that the two Monks with green eyes, the Grape twins, are already elders and too old for training. The fourth Monk is Elevius Dipperwell, adult brother of the current Priest Antonius Dipperwell - but his eyes are brown (just like the current Priest, btw). It's time to find a green eyed Candidate, or must they go for another Priest not following tradition? If so, Monk Elevius would be the one.

Hippold Grape always dreamed of a  normal family life, but because of his green eyes, and being the son of the sister of the current Priest, he had no choice. The Monastery is fine, but life should include so much more.

I wonder what men will join this monastery in the near future.
