A Funeral at Chateau Cavalier

(Year 229) Yesterday a final farewell ceremony was held for the recently deceased Aquess Benedict de Cavalier, former Duke de Cavalier. He died at 83 after a few years of weak health. He spent his last year in a wheelchair.

The Brindleton dukes are buried in Chateau Cavalier's crypt. It's a small and peaceful room with seating for only 16.

High Priest Antonius Dipperwell of the Church of Similius gave a comforting speech, reminding everyone that when your cup is full, it is full.

Charloman Demitris de Cavalier has taken over his father's dukedom. He is engaged to Lady Luna V. Heimlich, but because they are not yet married she could not join him on the front row at this very tough moment. Seating has to follow rank and protocol, even at a funeral.

The widow, Old-Duchess Claudine, was joined by HRH King Tarriot and High Priest Dipperwell. She moved to the private family property Hindquarter Manor with her late husband as he got sick and was forced to step back.

In the crypt were also spotted the deceased's daughter, Lady Merielle C. von Kaching and her husband the Honorable Edward Ba. von Kaching (future Baron of Gloom), deceased's second son, Leon, with his girlfriend Bonita Roxenfox, the Duke and Duchess von Windenburg, Lady Elvira de Sür-Blyth with husband (who is Hugo, half brother of Luna), the Lord of Deadgrass with wife Lady Moira von Dresden.

Due to the season of grief at Chateau Cavalier, the upcoming wedding of Duke Charlopold and Lady Luna will be downscaled, but will take place this Summer. It will be fine filling the chateau with some joy once again.
