Brindleton Wedding in the Planning

(Year 229) It's not been the ideal start for the engaged couple, Duke Charlopold de Cavalier and Lady Luna V. Heimlich. 6 months ago they got engaged and a huge celebration was planned for their wedding to take place this Summer. It is a bit short notice to most noble houses, as this group is rather busy and need to plan big events like attending a wedding at least one year ahead. Traveling combined with a couple days with events, and minimum the ceremony and a gala, involves not only planning what clothes top wear, but also regalia and what jewels to bring. With a better notice there would be time to repair an old tiara, but okay - it will of course be possible to go for a 2nd best choice if needed. Squeezing in a 3 days visit to another region will need either planning or good luck, though.

The Duke de Cavalier's office.

Duke Charlopold knows all these things, but the couple has waited years to get engaged, thanks to certain controversies like Lady Luna descending from criminals. Thankfully, it turned out she is instead the daughter of Duke Merlin von Windenburg, but as soon as this problem was out of the way Duke Charlopold's old father, Old-Duke Aquess, died. The upcoming groom had no choice but declaring a full season of grief at Chateau Cavalier.

So, how do you plan a full scale wedding during such a difficult time? You simply don't! Instead they chose to go for a scaled down celebration, and this is what Charlopold and Luna were up to when these pictures were taken by the castle butler. They fine tuned the guest lists. all involved were of course invited long ago, and were also informed that the event had to be down scaled a bit. A few guests were even taken off the list, but of course only those very distantly related.

But will you ever make sure you did not forget to invite someone?

It's been 6 months since the engagement (photo left), but Luna can not move in until they are married.

They ended up with a list of 25 names. Oh, and in addition they must not forget to confirm the details with the High Priest, Antonius Dipperwell. The ceremony will take place in the chateau garden in just 2 weeks. Afterwards there will be a small reception (outdoors if the weather plays on their team, otherwise it will be easy for servants to move the basics indoors). Just cake, toasts and a mini concert by a young and promising Pianist from Newcrest, actually recommended by Duke Merlin, Luna's father.

What can go wrong? Old-Duchess Claudine is not happy with how the gardens look after she moved out, but cut flower arrangements must cover up for it. There won't be enough time to trim the entire garden, anyways. They keep only 2 servants now that the household counts only Charlopold, the Butler and the Cook. Assistance has been ordered for the big event, but might need a double check.

And finally - the bigger problem, as many sees it - Luna's younger brother Max Villareal really should not be invited, not after tricking himself into the Von Windenburg Estate pretending he was a Butler. He was fired, but Duke Merlin hesitated suing the young man, as it was all discovered before he managed to make any damage or steal. Old-Duchess Claudine worries about having a criminal youngster in the midst of the fine noble guests wearing tons of valuable jewelries. Lady Luna really had a tough time deciding whether Max should be invited or not. But why won't she tell everyone about her conclusion?

Heads of 4 dukedoms, as well as (hopefully) some from the royal family, will attend. We'll soon find out how this will all work out...
