Royal Palace Office Reacts to new Romance Service

(Year 234, Fall) Today the Royal Palace Office (RPO) reacts to a web service that was released recently. Two residents working as Relationship consultant and Matchmaker published their services, including a complete list of all residents nation wide, who are single per date. They claim that all information is already public in the official residents registry.

- We can not tolerate that Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Emireza is listed as single on a web service obviously intended for match making, it says in a fresh press release from RPO.

The two residents responsible for the new webpage claim they have no intention of matching residents with the Crown Princess.

- We wanted a page where we could highlight our services, says Penny Peters (25) from San Myshuno. She is rather new in the Romance Consultant business, but very eager. - We saw it as natural to list residents that are not already in a relation, in order to make it easier for single residents to find a suitable partner. Allthough I would love to assist the next generation royals, I am totally aware that they can not date and marry just anyone. So, they are ranked with the top social goodwill residents, where there would be at least some suitable matches. Those candidates are probably well known already, and should not upset anyone.

The RPO claims all four children of King Tarriot and Queen Venezia to be removed from the list, or at least somehow state that they are not available candidates for matchmaking.

- We will of course adjust the service shortly, Peters adds. - I see now that it might give the impression that all listed residents have a profile at the Cupido dating service app, which was never our intention. Making it clear that there is no connection between our online list and Cupido should be a good start.

Are there no restrictions regarding this listing? What about a person not at all interested in dating?

- Either you are single, or you are not. We involved all single residents from the age of 20, and up to the age of 70. Widows/Widowers are not included, as they would need to actively change their status from Widow to Single. They can of course date, but we respect they might need a mourning period. We also provide info on fame status and whether the person is a member of Aristocracy. These might be more likely to date within their group. If you are a regular resident there will normally be no point initiating a date with say a baron.

Monks and Grey Sims Organization react too!

Also the Monks at the Windenburg Monastery have reacted. They are listed as singles, too, but none of them are allowed to look for a partner while they are members of the monastery household. They claim to be removed from the list of singles. Ministry of Health & Welfare has been contacted, and in a short press note they admit that the national residents registry is in need of a new "single but not looking" category. Such an option would allow for anyone to opt out of any lists used for matchmaking.

But another group reacts with disappointment for NOT being included. The club Grey Sims says Elders need dating, too! They protest that residents older than 70 are opted out of the service without being asked. Their leader, Carlos Egan (84) claims that Elders shall be included.

- Dating over a cup of coffee and some cake is important to elders. You won't need dancing and clubbing to go on a date!

Well, we assume the last word has not been said. The new service stirring up this many reactions might mean that the service is actually of broad interest.
