Protector of the butterflies, Nicci Ojo (86). |
But first, let's take a quick look to Empire of Snorthia where butterflies have been a big deal for several centuries!
Nicci Ojo (86) is current Head of the 6th protected family of Komorebia, established before the empire was established vouple centuries ago. This family was protected by the Chrysantemum and the protector of the butterflies. We are talking proud traditions here, as holding this community mission is seen as a big thing.
Current Head ranks only in the 3rd group pf princes, and is not a member of the national board. These rules details we must skip right now. Still, Ojo belongs to the elite of the empire. He is seated in Mt. Komorebi with wife and their son and his family. And yes, a daughter named Miko moved to San Myshuno long ago, they have tried to talk her into returning to Snorthia, and are still hoping.

Nicci Ojo's wife helps catching butterflies. |
Nicci Ojo is naturally well skilled with butterflies.
- We keep a well populated habitat at our entrance door, for anyone passing by to enjoy. We basically keep species that exist here in Snorthia, bu also a few that were gifted me by foreigners.
So, what makes the butterflies so special?
- They symbolize less worries and transformation. Good changes are very important to most creatures to thrive, not to mention the nature itself. Changing lifestages, changing seasons, changing temperatures. It is essential to all forms of life.
The Ojo family also raise new butterflies from larva stage. This is an ongoing process, particularly popular with the kids.
Can you make a living from raising butterflies?
- We would never think of that. We do this based on old traditions within our protected family. We are the protectors of the butterfly. We keep regular jobs to place food on our table.
Each of the 14 species (10 butterflies, 4 moths) will appear at their preferred hours, maybe at dusk, or just before dawn. Some even depend on changes in advironment. In other words you won't be able to catch them all at the same hour. See notebook information on butterfly collectin (point images) to get a few hints.
