(Year 235, Spring) Hot scandal reported from the royal palace in Del Sol Valley today! Let's start with the fire, although this is quite hot, it is not the biggest scandal. The fire lasted for hours, and damages has not yet been accounted for. Fire deparment was called for twice, but never showed up, and must now expect investigation. If calls from the royal palace get ignored, what calls won't?
Fire started by the fireplace in the little reading nook in the private quarters of the palace, often referred to as the fairytale nook. This is on 3rd story, just outside the royal children's bedroom section, and is where several generations of princes and princesses had been read to before bed time, by their governesses.
HRM King Tarriot, HRH Queen Venezia and HRH Crown Princess Emireza were all at home when the accident took place. Luckily nobody got physically hurt. The true heroes of the day were House Keeper Richard de Pill (49), in charge of this floor, and 1st Palace Maid Elisabeth Lunvik (45), rushing up from the 2nd story.
The two staff members did manage to reduce the fire, and althouh it spread to a spot they could not reach, they guarded it until it died out by itself. Aferwards, according to fire instruction all household and staff gathered by the palace's main entrance. Then a journalist captured the real scandal: Elisabeth Lunvik was clearly strutting a pregnancy!
How embarrassing and far outside protocole! The crowd first cheered to acknowledge Lunvik's extraordinary efforts, then they all went silent as the belly was noticed! A staff member is of course allowed to establish a family, but it must be based on the employer's acceptance and according to etiquette.
Elisabeh Lunvik is neither married, nor has she informed her employer about any pregnancy. This was probably a bigger disappointment to King Tarriot and Queen Venezia, totally overshadowing the fire event!
Inside sources now report that the 1st Palace Maid, who grew up in Oasis Springs but is said to hail from Moonwood Mill in region Crafthole, is likely facing some strict reaction. She has been a member of staff since 13 years, the last 9 years in her current position serving the formal quarters at the palace. There will now be a meeting to get all facts on the table - not the least; who is the father?
