(Year 229) The popular Tartosa Popular is owned by the Tredony Trust, now owned by House de Luminosa. The beach lot has been offering tourists as well as locals many services over the years, mainly focused at eating and drinking, but also shopping of souvenirs, art and clothes.
I built the beach building recently. It's not yet quite completed, I think I'll play with alternaive wall textures, and also a few features like beach showers are missing. But because I took some pictures - and am away from my game for a few more days, I'll just share as things are currently. Perhaps you will fiind some inspiration for your own beach lot.
Tartosa Promenade (aka Baia dell'Amore) is quite spacious, but without coming across as too massive. The lot is categorized as Restaurant, but I guess that can alter over time. It means the beach supplies like sun beds, will probably not be used by anyone but the active household. I prefer the 2nd floor shop/dining areas to be busy.
The basement is a full 1st floor that can be used. I plan adding a gym with showers, perhaps a small spa section meant for tourists. I also might ad a couple "rentable" rooms for tourists, but this far the only content on 1st floor is the passage leading through the building, and a small pretend-to-be beach kiosk.near the entrance.
|
Pretending that the kiosk near the entrance is selling beach towels, sunblock, newspapers, icecream and other stuff you might need on the beach. |
While testing the lot I got help from
Countess Bequeenie de Tredony and her housekeeper
Arnessa Thebe. Facing the stairs from the village is the beach kiosk and the entrance to the passage that goes through the building's 1st floor. The gym etc is meant to be accessed from inside this passage. The kiosk is not functional, but perhaps it would be possible placing a fridge there or a proviant chest (Outdoor Retreat), etc. The chef belongs to the restaurant, but has not yet walked up there.
The passage leads to the beach front where the stairs are leading up to the main story.
The main story can also be accessed from stairs on each end of the building.
Beach supplies include numerous sun chairs with parasols, a section with toddler stuff and also a picnic table - but no grill.
The 2nd story is the main thing. Here are several small shops, a restaurant and a bar. Below you see the art shop.
|
One sales nook is set up for providing home made paintings. |
It's just a nook under roof, where I hope any sim can sell their paintings from the market sales wall. The postcards and wall paintings are just for decor, the magazine rack is functional CC that allows a sim to buy a magazine.
Next is the main restaurant.
|
"Chez Vera" is the main restaurant. |
On such a promenade most guests are seated outside, but there is a table suited for a larger group inside. Burning candles is not a good move in the sun, but I realized after taking the pictures :)
Next is another nook shop, this time intended for selling wedding boukets.
|
This old canon is dated from the first Great War, no longer in use. And a ttourist forgot his sunhat... |
There is a street sales table intended for any active florist to use. The other plants are just for decor. Both the small shops can easily be redone to provide different themes over time.
Next is the bar.
|
The bar can seat its own guests and guests from the restaurant. Because the lot is categorized restaurant, there will always be a bartender. |
You can sit outside or inside, and I assume some restaurant guests might borrow these tables, too. That will be just cool, because it will make both places look busy. Beach bars often provide some easy lunch meals, so I'll just pretend the guests got what they eat from the bar.
On each end of the build there is a small tower.
|
The telescopes are popular with children, tourists - and waitresses. |
I'm not sure if they were ever used for canons, but these days you can use a telescope to admire the view across the ocean, on a clear day you should be able to see all the way over to Porto Tredony.
My active sims, Countess Bequeenie de Tredony and her assistant (house keeper) Arnessa Thebe, are seated outside the restaurant, but their food is not being served!
It turns out the Chef is still standing outside the beach kiosk! I checked the indoor of the restaurant to see if something blocked the way to the industrial stove, but found nothing. I moved it a tiny bit.
Meanwhile Countess Bequeenie enjoys the great view.
|
The perfect lunch view. |
This is absolutely a spot worth visiting. If they only could get served some food...
Many guests are welcomed and most are getting their food, too! Just not my active sims... Above I noticed an interesting group og guests - the elderly
Zilla Brox (77) with one of her triplet sons, Ruperto Brox (11), AND the man who is the one night stand that resulted in trips - more than 11 years ago! Zilla never met him again, but the game doesn't know they are nor meant to stay in touch. LOL. It was quite interesting seeing them, anyway, especially this far from home - did they go oon a secret vacation to Tartosa?
Well, sun was setting and it started to rain, and Countess Bequeenie and Arnessa had still not got their food.
I think it is on time to give up this table and go back home to eat! The restaurant seems to work fine with everyone else, so maybe I'll test with a different table being the active one.
Anyway, I think this lot will serve for somewhere to visit during a vacation, even if you visit Tartosa without getting married. Beach life is something all can enjoy. I'm planning to adjust two more community lots, adding a real church at the wedding lot, and replacing the lounge with a hotel. Can't wait! :)
