Preparing for the Mazaloom Census

(Year 233, Winter) The nation is facing a very interesting period! The political landscape is changing, not only thanks to a fourth party joining the 5 years election. The political sysem has been slightly adjusted and also the past regional reform will bring minor changes to the number of seats at People Chamber, representing each region. And on top of all this, we had a strong population growth in several regions!

- Ministry of Health & Welfare is involved with most matters concerning the population, and these days we are working hard to make sure the upcoming Mazaloom Census will be as accurate as possible. This 1st day of Spring is Nomination Day, a crucial day for us as it is also important for exact population numbers.

Because the national census is served only every 5th year, all statistics will be encounted at this time. It involves matters of household address, hair color and even eye color and need of glasses. And tons more! These stats have been collected for decades, but because what is actually meassured changes slightly over time, only a few facs can give us he very long lines.

The population numbers are essential for the upcoming Nomination Day. They are used to decide each region's number of seats at People Chamber), and the political parties need this result before they go public with their district Mayor candidates. At the moment *) Mazaloom's population counts 5,141,290 infivids, and the seats seem to be spread as follows: Region Windenburg 3 seats, region Rossie 1, Tredony 3, Crafthole 1, San Myshuno 5, Aarbyville 1, Advorton 3, and Gloom 3. Population growth was massive in Advorton and Windenburg, while Gloom and Tredony saw a significant drop in numbers (mostly caused by the regional reform).

- From 1st day of Spring we will have 3 more districts: Nordhaven, Evergreen Harbor and StrangerVille. Up to now they either had no political organisation, or they were organized as a hood under another district. New district status will naturally attract more families, resulting in population growth.

How might the Census affect future political decissions?

- There will probably not be time for the current administration to change much, for stats from the census will naturally afect the 5 years period following the election that takes place in 1 year. Health is an obvious field, because we get to know a little about changes in the population's genetical health. Recreation Centers already have minimum one health related service, and they might get adjusted according to the finds. Also the development regarding household's networth will be interesting.

Mazaloom Sencus statistics will be presented at a press meeting some time this Spring.
