Winner announced: Mazaloom Achievement Award Year 233

(Year 233, Winter) They say that it takes three times to make a new tradition, and this week a tradition was sealed! The annual Mazaloom Achievement Reward for maxing a skill was handed out for the third time. The committee, lead my HRH Crown Princess Emireza, searched high and low for this year's awarded resident. She was found in Brindleton Bay and her great achievement is maxing the Cooking skill.

HRH Crown Princess Emireza (22) and Emma Sherwood (87).

Emma Sherwood (87) served House de Cavalier for decades, cooking their everyay meals. But she also prepared food for large parties, and she was a trusted support for the duke's three children - today all grown up. When Emma retired, she was offered to move in at Hindquarter Manor, an estate owneed privately by the duke. She would stay there for as long as she wanted, and without serving the household - unless she felt like giving a hand occasionally.

- How could I not accept such a generous offer?, the shy Emma Sherwood asked when giving a brief speech after receiving the diploma from the Crown Princess. - Seven years later Hindquarter Manor is still my home. Now that my former employer, Duke Aquess and Duchess Claudine are both dead, their youngest son moved in temporary. Duchess Claudine's two dogs are still around, and I try to maintain her garden project.

When Emma Sherwood was asked where she wanted to receive the diploma, she said Chateau Cavalier at Cavalier Cove where she served for most of her life, would be perfect, if it was not too much trouble for Duke Charlopold and Ducess Luna. Of course it was no trouble at all, and after the little ceremony taking place in the grand hall, there was a lunch including all three of the children who are now grown ups, all with their own children: Duke Charlopold de Cavalier, Baroness Meriell of Gloom, and Lord Leon dC. Roxenfox. This event was smaller than nomal, as wished by the winner, but aside of current and former members of House de Cavalier, a few journalists attended as well.

Below is a photo taken back in Year 226, when Emma retired at the age of 80.

- I had to learn Gourmet cooking, too, and I recall we made lots of preserves from what was harvested in the large terrace garden. And, the family recipe... well, I can't even talk about that one. I'm sure most high nobility houses has some secret recipe. I had the best employer I could ever ask for. I hope those graduating from the Butler Academy these days are as lucky as I was.

Previous winners:

Year 232: Vladislaus Straud, Rossie, for maxing the Pipe organ skill.
Year 231: Olivia Clump, Newcrest, for maxing the Singing skill.
