Palace Employee Lunvik was fired!

(Year 235, Spring) Yesterday morning the Royal Palace Office (RPO) had announced that their press meeting would address the issue involving the surprise prenancy of a Palace employee. It's of course an internal matter, but the press has been speculating a lot as the father of the unborn baby had not been confirmed. Was it another palace staff member? Or could it be one of the three princes, although none of them reside at he royal palace currently. One newspaper even suggested that HRM King Tarriot could be involved, as long as it was not officially denied.

So, there was no other option for the Palace Chief Attendant Ms Patricia Maiden (54), than to addreess the rumors. And so she did! At first there was total silence in the press room, but then the room bursted when all attending journalists shouted their questions simultaneously!

The father to 1st Palace Maid Elisabeth Lunvik (45) is not a member of the royal family. It turned out that Lunvik, who has not confirmed whether she is related to a mythical Lunvik character of Moonwood Mill, had secretly signed up for a science project.

- The probplem is not that she signed up to assist the Flock People project, but that she took such a controversial step without informing her employer, and of course that she planned a pregnancy without being married - still without informing the RPO.

At the Palace nobody knew that Lunvik had agreed to give birth to a science baby. When getting pregnant she still kept it a secret, trying to hide her growing stomach. During a recent palace fire, where she got plenty of attentin thanks to her heroic efforts, her pregnancy was indeed discovered by chance.

- Palace staff members are of course free to have a family, but the norm is that you inform your employer as soon as you know of your pregnancy, or even when you decide to give it a try. Staff members do marry just like others, and it is expected that their child is born into a family built on a marriage. Only when they marry another royal staff member, they will need the RPO's approval to do so. This is of security reasons, serving us all good.

Elisabeth Lunvik did agree to the regular terms when accepting her job, and again when she was promoted to 1st Maid 9 years ago. She always performed a great job, since her latest promotion being in charge of serving the formal quarters of the royal palace. Few months ago she gifted a wedding photo to her two colleagues, Penelope Marble (2nd Maid) and Alan Pudding (Royal Guard Major) - they are both palace staff members and had the RPO's approval. This should definitely have been a reminder to Lunvik, that staff members have certan rules to obey.

- All our staff members know these rules. We had no choice but asking Lunvik to leave her post.

The Flock project's main Scientist Mr Alexander Goth (42) was contacted for a comment to this blog article, but he was not available. A secretary responded that the project is progressing according to plan, and that there will be some public updates as soon as all included pregnancies are completed.
