President Wilder's New Year's Greeting, Year 233

(Year 232, Winter) Tonight Mazaloom's residents could watch the broadcasted President's New Year's Greeing. President Rob Wilder took to the screen on the year's very last day, while King Tarriot will give his TV speech the following morning. Traditionally President's Greeing sums up the year that is about to close, while the Monarch will be welcoming the year that waits for us.

This time President Wilder had chosen several topics spreading widely; The Landlord bugs, the ongoing conflict with the Empire of Snorthia, and the recent Flock People discoveries. But he also took some time to explain how People Chambers works to guarantee a better community to us all. Here are some excerpts.

- Every year one Ministry gets a certain focus. We do of course tend to all needed aspects at all times, within our kingdom and beyond, but each of the 5 years of the elected period one of the 5 Ministries get some extra attention. This is done intentionally to secure that none of the fields are neglected, not even when bigger matters need our full attention for periods.

He said that Year 232 had been the year of the Culture and Entertainment dept. but that this probably includes more than most of us might think. Ministry of Culture & Entertainment does deal with all kinds of performing and creative arts, but also any form of beautifying. Such as Jewelry, which became real hot this year. Some builds were given a much needed makeover this year, parks got new plants, and we also organized new produce deeds for Painters and Photographers.

- Lead by the experienced Minister Ayana Jang this ministry had a very busy year. And we are all grateful.

But there were also numerous political matters on a higher level. The conflict between Mazaloom kingdom and Empire of Snorthia did increase, and President Wilder was happy to announce that there might be a small chance of improvement now that Ms Patricia Maiden accepted the invitation to visit Snorthia.

- Finally, we had a major community revamp, with the Regional Reform Y233 being completed in just 1 hour! Our 8 regions are now stronger, which also affects the election system and every residents' everyday life. Our goal has been a better nation, and I personally believe that we have achieved what we aimed for!

In the coming Year 233 the focus will be moved to Ministry of Health & Welfare, lead by Minister Fanny Silverbone. The many restaurants will have our attention, and we also want to make sure that these popular arenas for socializing are well represented in each and every region. Our many graveyards might need some national rules. Athletes will also be on our agenda: Bit very first; This coming year starts with this period's Tax Day, and this time some of the extra taxes will support sports organizations.
