Gloomville Diaries - Gen 1 - Ch 12: The attic

When Ochana and Chad got engaged, they discovered a door that Ochana had never seen before. The stairs lead up to the attic they didn't know about...

They walked up, and observed a pretty large room with piles of boxes and some books. It felt like the room was not warmth isolated.
- We can't use this room for anything, Ochana said. There was only one little window, and the air was kinda smelly like one might expect up in an attic where nobody set foot in a long time.

- We might use it as a storage room, Chad said. - Or a gym, even!
- Oh, the dino stencil! I recall that stencil!
- What?
- Ehm... nothing. They were part of the show, you know. And look at all those books! Are they old?

Chad had no intention of spending more time in the attic. He would rather celebrate their fresh engagement somehow.
- I'll join you in a few, Ochana said. - I'll just have a quick look at those books!

The quick look dragged out to one full hour. She didn't find all the books interesting, but selected a few of them that she brought downstairs. They looked like old history books and could perhaps contain some Gloomville history.

Chad repaired the sink, and it gave him time to think. A gym up in the attic would be perfect! Even if some noise would be heard from the second floor, that floor would mainly be bedrooms, and some sounds from gym equipment would not be a problem until bedtime!

There was no real celebration of the engagement. For the first time they didn't even eat dinner together. All because of the sink, and that the kitchen table was covered of dirty dishes. Oh, how Ochanna longed for a new dining table, of course in the dining room!

While the girls watched TV, Ochana called a few friends to invite them to the wedding. Well, friends. Ona Rosewood was the only real friend, Ochana had not been in touch with the others since they left the show some years ago. Now she reached Sissela Morck, Quatore Virton and Fabian Rumple. And she also called some neighbours.

According to Rules & Directions Ochana was excepted from the strict wedding rules because she wasn't really a main heir. Main heirs would need to marry at Gloom Garden, and they need to marry someone from Willow Field. But Ochana wanted to marry at Gloom Garden anyway!

In the kitchen Miranda cleaned the dishes and Edith did her homework.

Then Ochana joined them. She read parts from one of the history books she found in the attic. It was about timber industry for the most, and also some farming in the region. But she didn't really find Willow Field or Gloomville mentioned.

Ochana was a romantic person and could not concentrate for long, she would rather think of her wedding coming up shortly!

The girls discussed their homework, and they discussed one of their teachers. And when Ochana told them about the wedding, they just nodded and then continued with their business. Of course they were too young to know much about weddings.

Ochana thought that one day, either Edith or Miranda would need to marry a local at Gloom Garden, they just didn't know yet.

It was late. The girls were asleep since long, and Chad and Ochana had discussed details for their wedding. None of them had family in Gloomville.
- You won't be sorry if hardly anyone shows up? Chad asked.
- No, I won't, Ochana answered. - I'm pretty sure I will only see you for the entire ceremony!
- We can afford a real ceremony, I checked the costs.
Oh, really? Thats great, Ochana said.

And Chad knew that they really shouldn't spend all that money just to get those rings on their fingers. But he must have loved his fiancé, because he wanted her to have the wedding she wanted for!

Then everyone slept. Not only at Glee Abode, but also in the other houses at Willow Field.
