This morning Ochana was up very early. The weird Aileen Gleeson, who claimed she had initiated the entire show, would stop by at 11 AM with directions. Based on the contract Ochana already knew she would have to found a family here, and that the rules and directions was something she should only discuss with her heirs. What else could there be?
Being quite hungry, she walked into the kitchen, and decided to buy a few items for the money she gathered this far.
She bought a counter, a cheap fridge and a small dining table. In the tiny bathroom downstairs she installed a toilet, but a shower would wait. She also bought a bookcase and the bed she got last night. She still had §1654 left for those bills that are due tomorrow morning! She would need to collect something...
She missed a sofa for cuddling up with a good soap on TV, but she owned no TV-set either, so the sofa could wait.
She had placed the fish bowl on the kitchen counter. Not the best use of the only surface she got, but there was still a fish in there, and it would probably need some daylight. The fish was caught by Quatore Virton during the show, and it was named Aquatore. Wonder how old it can get?
- All fine, Aquatore?
She moved her bed from the library to the FUN room, only because it would be closer to the kitchen and the toilet. There was no point in going upstairs yet, all rooms would be empty for a long time.
She had to spend a few hours gardening today again. The place was horrible, a stinking mess of dead and dieing plants. She cleaned up a little, and watered just a little.
Whistling a tune while weeding made it all a tad more fun.
Then it was time for Aileen Gleeson's important visit at 11 AM sharp. Ochana invited her into the kitchen where they could talk.
- So, I understand that to keep this house, I'll need to found my family here, with minimum 3 kids, and that minimum 6 generations must reside here. And there was something about not telling lots of people about this deal, right?
Aileen gave Ochana a thoughtful look. Maybe she was thinking something like - Poor girl, you have no idea what this is all about, do you!
Aileen brought some documents, that Ochan would get to keep.
- This is the Rules and Directions, Aileen said. She told her that the Rules and Directions included much more than the phrase about 3 children and 6 generations, and that Ochana had to pay attention because Aileen would only explain it once.
The essence of the mission seemed to be to investigate Gloomville's history through talking to locals and visiting locations. Ochana would need to write down her findings whenever she found it was time. The directions also focused on saving up 6 potions, small bottles to pass on to the heir along with the books and directions, of course.
- But, I don't really get the point of all this?
- Don't ask, don't ask! Aileen begged her. - You are already in, dear! Once you get exploring, you will understand what you are looking for! Once you understand, you will see the rights and wrongs, and all the shades in between!
- It's important that your family keeps good relations to the other families here at Willow Field! Without them your family will fail! I tell you, there are connections you might not believe. Only when you learn to know your neighbours and to respect the past, there will be hope for your own family, too. Hope to justice!
- Don't delay your marriage! There's no restrictions to who you can marry, but there must be 5 more marriages after you. Your 5 main descendants must marry someone from Willow Field, but here are only 4 families to choose from! Do you get the picture?
Before Aileen Gleeson left in a hurry, she told Ochana to meet her a final time at midnight. They had to perform a ritual, toasting to Confidence and Happiness at a Flock Hideaway.
- Flock where? Ochana wondered.
- Don't ask! Just show up at Muggerdale at midnight, end of the road, to the right from Raven's house. Make sure to get some sleep before you travel there! Just look for me, and tell nobody!
Ochana was a little confused, but decided she could read those documents thoroughly in the evening before meeting Aileen again. Now she wanted to buy some new clothes!
She found a small clothing store in town, and although she couldn't spend much mony, she was happy to walk inside. Finally getting rid of "Everyday outfit number 8"!
The shop wasn't offering much, and of course she was short on money, but she found a few cheap outfits that she tried on.
- This one looks exactly like my old party dress, I won't need two of those...
She paid and left, now wearing a simple top and jeans. She generally loved pink and purple colours, but she thought it would be wiser to not stick out too much when meeting Aileen at Muggerdale tonight.
She then ran into Chad Pickens - the stalker from the gym showers! He had shown some interest in her at the party at Captain Blue Nightclub, and there would be time for hanging out a little.
Ochana took their picture, and Chad liked it.
- He he, I see two good friends!
Then she wanted to keep this contact strong, at least until she had decided who to marry. Chad was not completely out of the question, even if they met in the oddest way.
- You want us to meet more often, Chad?
- Oh, sure, that would be nice!
That was when Ochana noticed his ring!
- I could stop by at your place, Ochana!
A hunk like Chad wearing a lovely pink dimond ring!? This could only mean one thing - was he gay? What signals had she misunderstood?
And why would a gay hunk stalk women in public gym showers?
They split, without really talking anything over. Ochana was even more confused, and right now she had enough to worry about, getting ready for midnight.
Back home she watered some more plants, feeling a little embarrassed when seeing the strutting plants over at Willow Farm next door.
Then she had a nap to get ready for tonight. But she rested nervously. Aileen had told her to tell nobody about their meetings, but what if she should not be trusted? Ochana never actually saw Aileen during the show, only afterwards, and always alone. What if tonight's meeting was a trap?
Normally, Ochana would have told a friend, but tonight she told nobody.
(to be continued very soon :)
