Gloomville Diaries - Gen 1 - Ch 6: The right guy

Last night Ochanna hang out with some locals at Muggerdale Fair. She talked to Bob Maynard, Kale Baxter and Chad Pickens, they were all candidates to her heart. It was time to make a choice!

Making important decisions wasn't something Ochana liked to do. Marrying the wrong guy was a scary thought, but maybe they could just live together for a while first? From those 3 candidates, Bob is the one she knew the least about. Kale was the one always showing up wherever Ochana went, and well, they had a romance long ago, but lately he seemed less interested. Finally, Chad was the one she talked most with recently, but he was an athlete and well - Ochana was not. Would he not mind?

While thinking, she worked in the garden. She had saved up money to buy one outdoor trash can, and it was much easier to throw away dead plants when the can was nearby. There were still plants dying, and she would never expect it to take this long to tidy this little garden! She started to get the hang of it, but she still found it extremely boring.

Then she recognized a red shirt walking by.

- Chad! Wait!

She easily forgot the garden, and ran off.

- Hi, Chad! Out walking here at Willow Field? I live right there!

- Hi Ochana! Yes, I got new shoes, they need some walking to be good to me feet.
- Wanna hang out later?
- Sure! I'll just walk to Upperton hood and back, let's say 20 minutes!
- Wow, you walk fast! I wouldn't even make Upperton and back in 60 minutes!

 - We can't all be athletes, and that's fine with me. See you soon!  Then Chad walked off and Ochana walked back home.

When she retirned to her house, a young man was waiting outside. Oups, had he been there already when she ran off to see Chad?

- Hi there?
- Hi, I'm your neighbour, the guy said. He seemed rather calm, yet a tad nervous, somehow.

- I'm Adrian Hikes, I live across the street with my younger brother Hector and our sister Ella. I said we should all go say hello to you, but the other two... were too busy.
- Oh, that's nice!

Ochana introduced herself and was pretty pleased that the neighbour was same age as herself and even quite good looking.

Naturally she didn't tell Adrian about her mission, but...

- How long have you stayed here at Willow Field? Did you grow up here? she asked, thinking that some of the locals might become useful informants in the future.
- No, we grew up at Sunset Valley. Moved in here about a year ago.

Ochana realized that Adrian and his siblings could hardly be of much use, but maybe they knew the other neighbours?
- I heard this hood has long traditions, Ochana continued. - Do you know who I should ask about the local history?
- Well, you could try old Mr. Grossing, they live in that big gray house over there. He is a retired policeman and I think he lived here all his life.
- Bingo! Justice!
- What?

Ochana invited Adrian inside. One minute she was thinking that he was a nice guy, and that her decision could easily need some delay. But although he was her age, he seemed so much younger... could it still work?

Before she knew it, Adrian had walked outside to clean up some of the mess in the garden! Aw, Ochana thought she liked Adrian even more if she would not have to go out there every day to get rid of dead plants!

And Adrian kept cleaning for 20 minutes. Then he heard that someone was at Ochana's door, and he flew!

It was Chad who had returned from his walk up to Upperon hood. And he didn't even look affected from the walk.
- Hi again! Coffee time? he asked and smiled.
- Come on in! Uhm, salad time, perhaps...

They ate some nearly fresh garden salad in the kitchen. Ochana owned no coffee machine, but maybe that should be added to her ever growing shopping list?

- I like your kitchen! It's very different from mine.
- Oh, thanks!
- And I like your garden salad!
- Oh...

- Hey, and I like you, Ochana! We are different, I know, but I like that!
- Really? Ochana hardly believed her own ears!

Pink diamond ring or not, she knew that she liked him, and now she also knew that he liked her!

- Too-loo-tudi-loo!  Chad started flirting, and the next she knew was totally giving up holding back.

- Oh, Ochana, that was nice!

They walked over to the FUN room, Ochana's temporary bedroom. By pure coincidence she had replaced her cheap girly bed with a cheap double bed!

And she grabbed his firm body, and she hugged him like if she knew it would happen only once in her life.

And what was more natural than to sit on the bed and ticking each other.
- Ha-ha, Ochana, you drive me nuts, stop it! No do it again, ha-ha!

And a little massage was another chance for her to touch him.

Ochana felt she had jumped into another life stage! What if it was this easy?

And then, she was actually a bit bored, so she pulled up her cellphone to play a little...

- Ochana, is that the Tickle-A-Sim game you are playing?

Chad obviously felt a little put aside. But maybe he understood her, maybe he too thought that it was too much and too quickly.

The next day Chat visited again, and this time they didn't have time to eat salad...

- Ochana, would you like to go steady? You and me?

Of course she said yes!

During the day Chad moved in with her, and he told her that he had put aside almost §20.000 and that now they could afford a coffee machine!

And, it turned out that Chad was a nice guy cleaning up, too. Adrian Hikes was no longer around, and he won't be needed anytime soon.

  1. :) I giggled all the way through this one. Between Ochana and her thoughts about choosing any guy who would help with the yard work, and the way she pulled her cell phone out on the bed, you've got to give her credit. She isn't following anyone's script, she's determined to handle her romance in her own way!
